About

I am Salama. I am an ordinary girl. Actually an extra “ordinary” girl as in “extra …. pause for a bit and let out a sigh… ordinary”. Not “extraordinary” as in “Wow! That’s extraordinary”. And I am an extra “ordinary” girl who always wanted to write a book before she turned 30. The book never happened.

So instead I decided to keep a blog.

I also happen to be a Muslim. Through this blog, I share nuances, anecdotes, and thoughts. At a time when terrorism in the name of religion and Islamophobia are “cliche” hot topics, I prefer to write for the remaining 99.9% of humanity who I still believe are rational enough to realize that we (Muslims that is) are no different from anyone else. We are fallible. We rise. We stumble. We fall. We laugh. We cry. We have good days. We have bad days. We are human. It is this very “humanness” that makes me want to write as I have come to understand that each and every self-reflection in my life brings me a step closer to Allah (SWT)…

We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?

But first, I ask that He bless this modest venture and I pray that you find in my world something that I can bring into yours regardless of where you are or who you are…

Yours sincerely,
Salama 🙂
